On the Optimization of Peat Burning Plants

چکیده
One source of energy, the importance of which has been realized with the advance of increasing fuel prices, is peat, a renewing resource of nature typical for some areas in northern Europe. Because of the comparatively difficult processing properties of peat and the quite short history of efficient development on this area the technology of peat burning plants now needs a systematic programme of development, especially concerning small andmiddle-sized plants. The present work is aimed at identifying and mapping practical possibilities for optimizing the total economic performance of the plant type in question. The following principal programme was used:

Study on the Effect of Different Growing Media on the Growth and Yield of Gerbera(Gerbera jamesonii L.)
To study the effect of different substrates on growth and yield of gerbera, this experiment was carried out as randomized completely block design with 14 treatments and 3 replications. Treatments were as fallowing: fine sand, peat+fine sand (25%+75%), peat+fine sand (50%+50%), perlite+peat (75%+25%), perlite+peat (50%+50%), perlite+peat (25% +75%), perlite+peat+expanded clay (25%+70%+5%), perli...
متن کاملThe Possibility Using the Composted Peanut Shells in the Growth of Marigold and Viola tricolor Plants
This research was conducted to evaluate the possibility using peanut shells compost as a suitable medium in cultivating ornamental plants. Effect of peanut shells composts on the growth of Viola tricolor and marigold was investigated during seven months. Peat + perlite (with a ratio of 2:1) used as control treatment and peat replaced by 25, 50, 75 and 100 % v/v of peanut shells compost. Plant g...
متن کاملInfluence of Substitution of Peat with Iranian Zeolite(Clinoptilolite) In Peat Medium on Ficus Benjamina Growth
This experiment was designed to characterize the effects of size and concentration of an Iranian clinoptilolite zeolite on the growth ofFicus benjamina (starlight) in peat base media. Ficus benjamina was stock rooted and grown in a peat consisting perlite (2: 1 v/v) (P: Pe), zeolite (10, 20, 30 and 40 v/v %, two sizes 0.5-3 mm and 3-8 mm) instead of peat in P: Pe (2: 1 v/v) media. Ficus benjami...
متن کاملRemoval of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPHs) from Oil-Polluted Soil in Iran
Phytoremediation is an emerging environmental-friendly technology that can be a promising solution to remediate oil-polluted soils. The impact of high amount of hydrocarbons on growth characteristics of burningbushand common flax was evaluated in this survey. The influence of organic fertilizers was also assessed on growth of plant species in oil...

Aloe vera is one of the most popular ornamental plants that is widely used in production of medicines and cosmetics. To investigate the effect of different ratios of peat and perlite on quantitative and qualitative characteristics of Aloe vera, a split-plot experiment, arranged as completely randomized design, with five substrates (peat, peat and perlite (1:3 v/v), peat and perlite (1:1 v/v), p...
